Wikipedia actually has some information about where maps in Darkest Hour: Europe ’44-‘45 are located in the real world. For example Freyneux and Lamormenil is set in Belgium in December 1944 and Carentan happens shortly after D-day. Bridgehead is one of those bullet points in the list where no information about it’s background is available. I guess it’s a fantasy map.
