I remember reading online (so it must be true!) something about Panzerfausts, or Tank Fists, that as war progressed and Germans had difficulties getting materials for their Panzerfausts, they sometimes put in the actual warhead a mixture of explosives and whatever they could find — including screws, bolts and concrete. That kind of 2nd grade tool was then given to, for example, Volkssturm units so they could use it as anti-personnel weapon.

Muistan lukaisseeni netistä (joten sen täytyy olla totta!) erään jutun Panzerfausteista, eli Panssarinyrkeistä, että kun sota kulki kulkuaan ja saksalaisilla alkoi olla hankaluuksia valmistaa noita aseita, he joskus täyttivät kärkikartion räjähteiden ja romun yhdistelmällä. Silloin kartion sisällä oli voinut olla esimerkiksi ruuveja, naulanpätkiä ja betonia. Sellainen kakkosluokan ase oli sitten annettu esimerkiksi Volkssturmin yksilöille, jotta heillä oli edes jonkinlainen keino taistella jalkaväkeä vastaan.
