First I’d like to save your time by writing that this is about Darkest Hour, the Red Orchestra: Ostfront modification, and not about Darkest Hour: A Hearts of Iron.

This game has a bit of a learning curve. Maybe these tips level it a bit. If you’ve just installed DH and been so lucky to have joined a full server, it’s a good idea to:

1) Not to move the Mobile Deployment Vehicle (MDV). It’s a mobile spawn point and strategically very important.
2) Take a role that’s not very important to the whole team. In most maps one of the most critical roles is Tank Hunter (Panzerjäger).
3) Avoid throwing hand grenades to cap zones. It could cause unnecessary friendly casualties.
4) If you’re driving a vehicle across a bridge, don’t stop until you’ve reached the other side. Same thing indoors: please don’t block doorways or ladders.

Vinkkejä uusille Darkest Hourin pelaajille

Ensimmäiseksi haluan yrittää säästää aikaasi kirjoittamalla, että tämä on siitä Red Orchestra: Ostfrontin Darkest Hour -modista eikä siitä toisesta (Darkest Hour: A Hearts of Iron) pelistä.

Tässä pelissä on pieni kynnys “ottaa se haltuun”. Ehkä pystyn näillä ohjeilla madaltamaan sitä kynnystä. Jos siis olet juuri asentanut DH:n ja on lykästänyt niin, että olet liittynyt täyteen serveriin, silloin on hyvä:

2) Varaa sellainen rooli/luokka, joka ei ole kriittinen tiimisi menestymisen kannalta. Useimmissa kentissä tärkeimpiä rooleja on panssarintorjuntamies (Tank Hunter / Panzerjäger).
3) Vältä nakkelemasta kranaatteja valloitettaviin alueisiin. Sellainen aiheuttaa todennäköisesti tappioita omalle joukkueellesi.
4) Jos ajelet jollakin kaaralla tai panssarivaunulla sillan yli, pysähdy vasta sillan toisella puolella. Sama juttu sisätiloissa liikkuessasi: älä tuki ovensuita tai tikapuita.
